Performance test of castors
A qualified castor product must undergo strict quality and
performance tests before leaving the
factory. The following castor manufacturer KT castor introduces the
five types of tests currently
adopted by the enterprise:
1. Resistance performance test
When testing this performance, the caster should be kept clean and
dry. Place the caster directly
on a metal plate insulated from the ground, keep the wheel edge in
direct contact with the metal plate,
and load 5% to 10% of its standard load on the caster. Measure the
resistance between caster and
metal plate with insulation resistance tester.
2. Impact test
Install the caster vertically upside down on the ground test
platform, so that the noon with a mass of
5kg falls freely from the position with a height of 200mm and a
deviation of 3mm is allowed to impact
the wheel edge of the caster. If there are two wheels, the two
wheels should impact at the same time.
3. Static load test
The test process of caster static load is to fix the caster on a
horizontal and smooth steel test platform
with screws, apply a force of 800N along the center of gravity of
the caster for 24h, and check the
condition of the caster after skimming the force for 24h. After the
test, the measured deformation of the
caster does not exceed 3% of the wheel diameter, and the caster is
qualified if its axis rotation, rolling or
braking function is not damaged after the test.
4. Reciprocating wear test
The caster reciprocating wear test simulates the rolling condition
of casters in daily use. It is divided into
obstacle free test and obstacle test. The casters are correctly
installed and placed on the test platform.
Each test caster load is 300N, and the test frequency is (6-8)
times / min. a test cycle includes a back
and forth movement of 1m forward and 1m backward. During the test,
no casters or other parts are
allowed to be separated. After the test, each caster shall be able
to be used normally. After the test,
the rotation, rolling or braking function of the caster shall not
be damaged.
5. Rotation resistance and rolling resistance test
The rotation resistance test is to install one or more casters on
the linear or circular motion tester so
that their direction is 90 ° to the driving direction. Apply 100 /
200 / 300N test load to each caster
according to different test levels. Apply a horizontal traction
force to make the running speed of
casters on the test platform 50mm / s and rotate within 2S. Record
the maximum traction force for caster
rotation, and it is qualified if its size does not exceed 20% of
the test load.
For the test of rolling resistance, the standard is to install
three casters on a fixed three arm base,
apply a test load of 300 / 600 / 900N on the base according to
different test levels, and apply a
horizontal traction force to make the caster speed on the test
platform 50mm / s and keep it for 10s.
Since the friction force is large at the beginning of caster
rolling and there is a speed, measure the
horizontal traction force after 5S, and it is qualified if its size
does not exceed 15% of the test load.
After the above tests and qualified products can be recognized as
qualified caster products, which
can play a greater role in different application fields. Therefore,
all production enterprises should
attach great importance to the detection link after production.
